SHARE – Who does God say you are?

6 08 2009

Discovering your identity is such a difficult and important part of growing up. As a Christian, I believe a lot of that identity comes from who God says you are, because those are ultimate truths. If I find my identity in stuff that doesn’t last, like a talent or beauty, what happens when I get injured or don’t look the way I used to? Finding your identity in God is what frees you to enjoy the stuff that doesn’t last, while maintaining security in who you are.

Lisa (the former director of SHARE) and I worked on a small card that could be given to teens at church youth groups as a way of encouraging them to discover what the Bible has to say about who they are, and how God sees them.

SHARE – Intimacy

6 08 2009

Post card I made to pass out to teens after SHARE presentations on intimacy. Seems like teens today get all the information they could possibly need on the act of sex, and how to prevent pregnancy and STDs, but they don’t get a lot of help in the relationship department. What does healthy intimacy look? How do you know if someone really loves you? When you think about the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, what does that relationship look like?

SHARE – Breaking the Silence

6 08 2009

SHARE is a program I volunteer for. It stand for Sexuality Health and Relationship Eduction. The speakers go to local junior highs, high schools, and youth groups and talk about…well…Sexualtiy, Health, and Relationships. It’s pretty cool.

We’ve started making more materials to pass out, including stuff for parents. This is a Postcard I made on “15 ways to break the silence.” We want parents to be talking to their kids about sex and relationships, but we realize sometimes they don’t know how.
